Operation Rapier
I was commissioned to design the cover for Operation Rapier by Stanley J. Borgia. Working closely with the author, I focused on creating a cover that authentically captured the essence of the story and its characters. This collaborative process involved understanding the narrative's themes, exploring visual concepts, and refining the design to ensure it resonated with the intended audience.
Operation Rapier
Throughout the design process, I focused on capturing the book's central themes of intrigue and action. We explored various visual elements, including color schemes and typography, that would resonate with the target audience. I created multiple mock-ups, each highlighting different aspects of the narrative, and sought Stanley’s feedback to refine our direction.
One challenge we encountered was balancing the cover's aesthetic with its marketability. We wanted it to stand out on the shelf while still fitting within the genre's conventions. To address this, I researched similar titles and trends, ensuring that our design was both fresh and familiar.
Inspiration came from key scenes in the book, which guided the imagery and layout. We settled on a striking central image that encapsulated the protagonist's journey, complemented by bold typography that conveyed urgency and action. The final cover not only reflects the essence of Operation Rapier but also invites readers into its thrilling world.
Overall, this collaboration was an enriching experience, and I’m excited to see how readers respond to the cover and the story within.
