Miami Univeristy Career Center

Summary

The Miami University Career Center serves as a vital bridge between students and their future careers. To effectively reach a busy collegiate audience and attract top-tier employers, the Center requires a consistent, engaging, and highly professional visual presence. The objective for this ongoing in-house role was to elevate the Center's marketing materials and capture the dynamic energy of campus career events, ensuring all student-facing communications felt both accessible and polished. As I was a student myself during my time in this role, I was able to implement my own personal opinions.

Solutions

The core design challenge for university career marketing is making professional development feel exciting rather than daunting. I approached this by developing cohesive "graphic packages" adaptable visual systems that standardized the Center's look and feel across various platforms all while following Miami Univeristys brand guidelines. By designing versatile social media templates and polished presentation covers, I ensured the brand remained consistent whether students were scrolling online or sitting in a resume workshop. Additionally, capturing live event photography allowed me to build a localized asset library. Integrating these authentic, high-energy photos of real students into the graphic packages ultimately elevated the authenticity and impact of the Center's outreach campaigns.

Deliverables

Cohesive promotional asset suites for social media (Instagram, LinkedIn) designed to highlight upcoming job fairs, resume workshops, and employer spotlights. Branded cover slides and presentation templates utilized by career advisors during campus-wide workshops and seminars. High-quality photo documentation of large-scale career fairs, networking events, and student engagement activities, edited and cataloged for future marketing use.

My Role

Serving as a core member of the internal marketing team, I was responsible for creating comprehensive digital graphic packages for upcoming events, designing presentation materials for campus, and acting as the on-site photographer to document career fairs and networking events. I recieved the Student Scholarly Leadership award my senior year for my hard work as a production assistant.
